6th Graders to Begin the 2024-2025 with a Retreat at Camp Lebanon

May 20, 2024As you may know, our 6th grade traditionally goes on an overnight trip at some point during their school year. In years past, students have traveled to Osprey Wilds, an Environment Learning Center. With a new 6th grade teacher coming aboard and a change in the school mission statement, we decided to try something different.
Next year, 6th graders will be going to Camp Lebanon for a 3 ay 2 night retreat September 11-September 13th. Camp Lebanon is located near Burtrum, MN about an hour away from SJAS. Camp Lebanon has fantastic facilities, great food, and countless activities for students to participate in. Mr. Smith has taken an 8th grade group to Camp Lebanon in the past and had a terrific experience- he is confident this group of students will have an equally amazing time with their new teacher Ms. Stangl.

The trip will allow students opportunities to deepen their faith, deepen their friendships, and to have fun! There will be no shortage of activities to engage in while at Camp Lebanon.
Activities include:- Hub – Campfire, Gaga ball, Sand Volleyball, 9 Square, Basketball, Pickleball
- Wiffleball Field
- Field Games
- BB guns + Archary
- Hiking
- Gym – Basketball, Volleyball, Floor Hockey, Blacklight Dodgeball, Coffee Shop
- Gift Shop
- Pontoons
- Canoes, Kayak’s, Paddle boats
- Polar Plunge – Run into the cold lake
