7-8th Grade Exploration

St. John's Area School has established a series of goals to guide our exploration of what we feel a possible 7-8th grade program should encompass:

• Faith remains at the heart of what we do.

• Academic excellence in core subjects at SJAS.

• 7-8 students will remain ingrained in SJAS school culture and connected with younger students

• Students have a need to mix with a wide variety of students for social reasons.

• Exploratory classes should offer a variety of experiences.

• Extracurricular activities and clubs will need to be offered at our school and/or at a partner school.

• The 7-8 program should pay for itself and be economically sustainable.

• Reliable, safe, and economical transportation is a priority in establishing a connection with another school should we not be able to meet all goals at SJAS.

Currently, the 7-8th grade exploration committee is investigating possible partners in providing exploratory classes and opportunities to socialize with other middle school students.
